Set against the awkward yet endearing backdrop of middle school transition, Hitori Bocchi's ○○ Lifestyle follows Bocchi Hitori, a young girl crippled by extreme social anxiety and profound stage fright. When her only childhood friend, Yawara Kai, decides to part ways for middle school to teach Bocchi self-reliance, she issues an ultimatum: Bocchi must successfully befriend every single student in her new class—or face the termination of their friendship forever. Armed with bizarrely obsessive planning, severe nervousness, and a heart full of earnest determination, Bocchi embarks on a painfully hilarious and heartwarming crusade of trial, error, and connection. As she meets eccentric classmates like Nako Sunao, who looks like a delinquent but has a heart of gold, and Aru Honshou, the clumsy self-proclaimed vice-class representative who constantly tries too hard to look cool, Bocchi slowly steps out of her comfort zone.
